Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Jennifer Nissen slowly worked her way across the country, completing her B.A. at the University of Chicago in 1996 then receiving her veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 2002.  In 2003, she completed a one year Small Animal Rotating Internship at Mesa Veterinary Hospital in Arizona.  Afterwards, she moved to San Diego, where she worked for one year at a large emergency animal hospital and two years in a small animal & exotic practice before joining All Pets Animal Hospital in June of 2006.  Her special interests include ultrasound and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Nissen lives in San Diego with her new husband.  They share their home with four cats (Elphie, Orion, Willow, and Regan) and a bearded dragon (Oliver). Outside of the hospital, Dr. Nissen enjoys reading, biking, and knitting.
